George Bassett
Following the introductions of Steven Bailey and David Blanchard, this edition of our Meet the Team series is about George Bassett, Sales & Business Development Manager at Turfix.
George has been a familiar face to the organisation for several years, having worked closely with us while heading up Tildenet Sports' sales division—one of the key brands in Turfix's portfolio. After nine successful years at Tildenet, George made the switch to Turfix in January 2025.
With a deep understanding of sports turf products, particularly turf protection and amenity equipment, George has extensive experience working alongside grounds and stadium managers. Based in the South-West of England, he will oversee the South-West and South-East regions of the UK.
In his spare time, George enjoys playing football (when he's not dealing with a dodgy knee) and supporting his beloved Plymouth Argyle. When he's not focused on sports, he loves traveling, eating his way round new places, and walking his sausage dog, Strauss, with his fiancée, Megan.
An interesting fact about George...
In 2016, George and four friends ascended and descended Mount Fuji in just seven hours—a journey that typically takes most people 2–3 days if they choose to stop along the way. It’s fair to say that’s quite an achievement!
